Dear Sir, First of all, I apologize for using English in your forum. I am a French sailor and I plan to move my boat from Riga to Gdansk in order to visit the area next summer. I wish to leave my boat outside in a shipyard or a marina in Gdansk or Gdynia area. Does anyone has a good place to recommend to me (for exemple a place with its own crane or travelift, with some facilities to live in the boat for a few days) ? Best regards |

Zapewne chodzi mu faktycznie o popływanie w sezonie, po czym przezimowanie jachtu + drobne naprawy gdzieś w Trójmieście. |

Best regards Well, winter storage places in 3-City (like we call Gdańsk/Sopot/Gdynia) are quite limited. First of all Sopot has no wintering places at all - there is only a seasonal marina - little a bit posh, rather expensive and limited in facilities. On the other hand - Sopot Marina is very convenient and probably has the best location in 3-city. Simillary, Gdynia City Marina (the only one - at the moment - in Gdynia city) altought very conveniently located in city centre suffers a permanent shortage of places in season (may- october) and very limited number of places for winter storage. Ther is only small crane (3T), bigger yachts use mobile cranes (quite expensive). Wintering here is not cheap either.. Gdansk City Marina (main entrance), located very picturesque in the heart of historic centre has full facilities, but no places to stay over winter and no crane. Only some steel and traditional wodden yachts stay over winter here - frozen in the river ice... Looks like your only opition to winterize your yacht ashore in 3-City is one of clubs/marinas available via "Gdańsk - Górki Zachodnie" entrance (the estern entrance to Gdańs harbour, limited by 5m draft, marked and lighted): https://www.google.com/maps/place/54%C2 ... 18.7803505 ![]() I would advice you to contact in advance - diretcly with managers of marinas/clubs available via Górki Zachodnie - e.g. using e-mails from sites listed below: 1. NCŻ (Academic National Saliling Centre) - full faciliteas, crane 6,3T, but very limited number of places... http://ncz.awf.gda.pl/index.php?id=15 2. AZS Galion - full facilities, no crane, but one can use a mobile crane or crane in NCŻ (and and roll a boat from there - just across the gate): http://www.hotelgalion.pl/kontakt 3. AKM Gdańsk - limited facilities, mobile cranes only: http://www.akm.gda.pl/index.php?cat=kontakt 4. Conrad Jachtklub - full facilities, only mobile cranes: http://jkic.pl/kontakt_en.htm 5. Delphia Marina - place shared with Conrad Yachtclub above: https://fr.delphiayachts.eu/marina 6. Jachtklub Stoczni Gdańskiej - full facilities, 12T crane: https://jachtklub.nsm.pl/marina.php 7. "Jabo" Yacht/Schipyard, limited facilities, slipway 50T http://jabo.com.pl/pl/kontakt/ 8. Jachtklub Morski Neptun - perfectly sheltered small private owners haven, full facilities, mobile cranes (crane cost ussually shared between members, then cheap): http://www.jkm-neptun.com.pl/kontakt.html 9. GKM LOK - ca. two miles further inland, much closer to the city centre, limited facilities, slipway 20T: http://www.gkm.gda.pl/index.php/kontakt 10. Yacht Club Północny - close by to GKM LOK above, full facilities, AFAIK mobile crane only. http://www.ykpolnocny.pl/index.php?opti ... Itemid=155 11. Yachtfinishing schipyard (opposite side of the river), industrial area, marina under development, slipway or crane (own): http://yachtfinishing.com/?page_id=17&lang=en 12. Hostel Kaper Marina (opposite side of the river) industrial area - perfectly sheltered, narrow entrance, limited by 2m draft, full facilities, mobile cranes only: http://hotel-kaper.pl/kontakt/ Personally I would advice No 8, 10, 6 or 12. Engine repairs, experienced schipwrights and sailmekers available in number almost every place listed above - just ask ![]() Best Regards |

Hi, I sent an email to all these companies. For now the answers I receveid are from Yachtfinishing schipyard and Jabo. I noticed tha in Jastarnia there is a 65t travelift. Do you think that this marina could be also a good place ? Thank you very much. |

Do you think that this marina could be also a good place ? For new lights and buoys in Górki Zachodnie entrance - see: http://marcinpalacz.pl/baltic/new-marki ... e/?lang=en Jastarnia is a very nice place and busy holiday resort in summer. Has a basic municipal marina on north-east side of the harbour, but previous years facilities there were seasonal only. From the other hand - wintertime Jastarnia is far far away... from averything ![]() Marina Jastarnia (two piers NE side of the harbour) extension and development starts this summer. I'm not sure if this season one can stay there on the water - seems it's going to be a busy building site. Alternative place for yachts is old-fasioned "LOK" club (military related assocciation) - alongside berth on the SE side of Jastarnia Harbour. Not a nice one and a bit neglegeced (smalish buoys for dingies, old rubber tyres as fenders... problems with facilities) - so in my opinion good for short stay only. Slips and new travelift in northernmost corner of the Jastarnia harbour is used mainly by fishing crafts. Area next to the lift is a fishing crafts repairyard. Ther is also a pillar crane 6,3T. I'm not sure who is menaging the lift (and yard)... But as the harbour is municipal - I'll ask by phone - after weekend (or You can send an e-mail: http://www.jastarnia.info.pl/atrakcje/2/port_w_jastarni ) Very few yachts spend winter in Jastarnia. If so - they mainly use places in LOK grounds, mentioned above. Contact: http://www.lokjastarnia.pl/index.php?id=106 No permanent crane there... ------------ Just noticed an official price list for Jastarnia municipal harbour has a position for "craft winter storage" - so I think it's available. (Polish only: http://www.bip.mzp.jastarnia.pl/pobierz/109 ). BTW - just had a quick look - and it seems that winterising in municipal harbour of Jastarnia is quite expensive, even comparing to prices in 3-City. For example winter place for my 9m boat in AZS Galion marina (No 2 in previous post) is ca 20% cheper then for the same size boat in Jastarnia - and Galion is not on the cheap side, comparing to other clubs / marinas in Górki Zachodnie... Well, if price matters probably the cheaper place then Jastarnia would be Puck Marina. And Puck is a real city, not a holiday resort only ![]() No crane, full facilities, boats up 20m / 2,5m draft, winterasing needs booking in advance. Municipal agency covering Puck Marina contact: http://www.moksir.puck.pl/kontakt/ Best Regards |

Hello, I am planing my trip and noticed that there is a huge firing zone in front of Kaliningrad. When the Navtex doesn't advice any military exercice is it possible to sail in the coastal water of Kalintgrad without any visa ? Best |

In particular there is a "zone" extending 70 Nm from the Russian shore (sic!), far beyond Russian territorial waters, named "nr 117", which reaches the boarder of the Russian economical zone. You probably can't avoid this zone. There are reports that some floating concrete platforms are placed at the limits of this zone, unlit and not marked on charts! fblc napisał(a): When the Navtex doesn't advice any military exercice is it possible to sail in the Russian coastal water of Kalintgrad without any visa ? In any case, stay away from Russian territorial waters (12 Nm). Marcin |

In any case, stay away from Russian territorial waters (12 Nm). I can strongly confirm - do not enter russian teritorial waters next to the Kaliningrad "oblast'". And keep a sharp look out + listen to vhf, when crossing russian "exercise areas" that can extend as far, as 70 miles offshore. Be aware that Russian authorities pretend they don't have a slightest idea what "innocent passage" means... PS. The only exception would be intention to visit russian harbour. But for that kind of visit everyone on board has to collect a "visa" well in advance and a boat's skipper needs to comply with some strict (and weird) formalities before (and after..) entering any Russian harbour... |
